Royal HaskoningDHV is an independent international engineering and project management consultancy, founded in 1881. Our 7.000 professionals deliver services in the fields of energy, buildings, industry, infrastructure, aviation, maritime, mining, rural, urban, transport and water, in more than 130 countries. Within this large company, a small team of electrical engineers are specialized in electrical energy systems, with focus on high voltage systems and large scale generation, transport and distribution.
One of our recent projects includes the commissioning of the coal fired power plant MPP3 on the Maasvlakte, Rotterdam. Rated at 1100 MW, it is the largest power plant of the Netherlands. The MPP3 project is in its final phase, in which we perform several heavy tests to confirm the robustness of the unit. These tests are only done in the Netherlands, and prove “the blunt way” that the plant is able to handle extreme situations in the high voltage grid without tripping or failing.
We kindly invite you to come to our lunch presentation on the 27th of September, in which we will explain in more detail why we do these robustness tests on new power plants, and how we did it for MPP3.
