Studytrip to ABB/Stockholm – Sweden

Recently we organized a study trip to ABB and Stockholm in Sweden. At ABB we had some very interesting days about high voltage capacitors, surge arresters, motors, generators and robotics. We also visited ABB corporate research, one of the few places in the world were big HVDC converters are developed. We also visited the KTH – Royal Institute of Technology where we had a great technical/non-technical presentation about the university’s research and Swedish hobbies such as ice skating. Because telecommunication research is big in Stockholm, we visited Wireless@KTH, where we had a great presentation about wireless solutions in smart grid applications. We concluded the week with some free time in Stockholm. Waldur wants to thank everyone who contributed to this trip.

Detailed reports will follow soon.
