Prysmian Excursion: The Manufacturing Process of Power Cables [5LEC0]

We have been invited by Professor Peter van der Wielen to join his excursion to Prysmian in Delft.
Prysmian is a global company that produces optical fibres, telecom wires, and power cables. During this visit, we will be getting a tour of their facilities in Delft, where they produce power cables (underground and submarine). Furthermore, during the tour, we will gain insight into their latest developments in cable production and how they can adapt cables to new environments, such as floating wind farms.
The sign-up deadline is Wednesday, the 27th of May.
Planning:
- 10:00 Leaving from Eindhoven
- 12:15-12:30 arrival and welcome in the meeting room
- 12:30-13:15: lunch
- 13:15-14:00: presentation Prysmian and cable construction (for the ones in Waldur who also did not have the lecture in TU/e) and safety for the factory tour
- 14:00-14:15: change to safety outfit
- Factory tour
- Coming back to the meeting room
- Wrap up and discussion
- Leave around 16:30
